The Burnt Wooden Wide Vase is handcrafted by European artisans using fir wood through a traditional Japanese burning technique called “Shou Sugi Ban”. The burning process gives the vessel an old-world, natural patina. Designed to hold a simple branch, twig, or flower the piece is just as strong solo as an object that’s sure to attract conversation. Chipping of the wood is expected due to the nature of the technique. A small watertight tubular beaker is set within, making it suitable for live plants.
